Arte Classica

The Arte Classica series is a striking exploration of classical art through a contemporary lens. Composed of monochromatic string art pieces, the series focuses on fragmented sculptures—such as a broken statue of a head and a shattered torso—evoking iconic works of ancient art. These broken forms, rendered in minimalist tones, invite the viewer to reflect on the themes of time, decay, and the endurance of beauty.

The monochromatic approach strips away any distraction, allowing the viewer to focus on the essence of the classical forms. By using a single color, the artworks emphasize the purity of the line and the texture of the strings, highlighting the contours of the broken statues with both precision and subtlety. This starkness creates a visual language that speaks to the permanence of classical ideals, yet also to the impermanence of physical existence.

The fragmentation of these statues is intentional, symbolizing the inevitable passage of time and the fragile nature of human endeavors. The broken head and body are not just remnants of what once was; they are metaphors for the way history is preserved in fragments. These statues, once whole and revered, now exist as pieces that still convey beauty and power, even in their incomplete state. Through their breakage, they become timeless, capturing the essence of human vulnerability and resilience.

Arte Classica uses these fragmented forms to question the nature of perfection and the way we remember the past. By presenting them in a monochromatic palette, the series draws attention to the universal, timeless quality of classical art, suggesting that even in decay, there is beauty to be found, and in the broken, a story to be told.
